Feature: The Mint Tyre Solutions R32 Skyline (MTR32) 370BHP

The MTR32 has been used and abused over the last 2-3 years with numerous practice days, rentals and of course the odd competition!
With the help of our friends at Bodymek and Carbon Copy we gave it a spruce up at the start of 2010 with the aim of completely overhauling the car to enable us to use it at all the major car shows and drifting events in the country. Due to a busier than expected calander the car did not get everything it perhaps deserved so it means a little bit at a time.
For 2011 the car will be getting a new uras style kit courtesty of Carbon Copy (www.carboncopyuk.co.uk) , a slight upgrade in the power department including a re-map from Greg @ Protuner (www.protuner.co.uk) as well as a freshen up on the paint from the lovely chaps at Bodymek (www.bodymek.co.uk).
Due to a few dents and scuffs, what with several trips to the kitty litter as well as the obligatory clipping point being 'tapped' and of course not to mention the amount of cones that just happen to jump out in front you when going round a track, the car was looking a little bit sorry for itself.
The aim for this year is to keep it simple, clean and fresh. The car will be going to its original black with any additional colour schemes being done in vynal.
Exterior: Uras Style Kit, GTR overfenders and frp front wings courtesy of Carbon Copy. Currently sitting on 18" GTC's ET35 with 25mm bolt on spacers all round. 2011 Upgrades include new front and rear bumper, side skirts, an extra set of over fenders to go on top of the existing to make it even wider, GTR front wings and indicators, a headlight duct and some nice 18x10j et12 and 18x9.5j et12 GTR-D's in White.
Engine: 370 BHP / 360ft lb @ 1.2bar - Upgrades for 2011 include a Hybrid Turbo from the RB25, Z32 AFM, 550 injectors, a gizzmo boost controller, swirl pot, Bosch inline pump, braided fuel lines and a fuel pressure regulator. Other ancillaries have been upgraded like silicone hoses and breather pipes etc.
Interior: Currently a set of GTR front seats with a Fabricage bolt in roll cage for safety reasons! Fire extinguisers and harnesses. Roll cage has been painted white and the dash has been flocked by Stiggy at Driftshack. A new Sparco Evo seat to be used in competition to keep me in place. A hydraulic handbrake has now been installed as the original handbrake setup was all too often failing...
Footwork and Running Gear: The suspension setup will remain as it is at the moment but this may change before the season begins in April. Currently on unknown coilovers and stock arms. The subframe was changed in 2010 for an S13 subframe which was powder coated green. The Rb20 gearbox exploded at 2010 JDM Allstars Rnd 1 in Manchester so the stronger RB25 gearbox was fitted with a new propshaft made to fit. The Diff then broke at Knockhill just doing passenger rides in the car park!! The car was treated to a GTR rear end including diff, driveshafts, hubs etc... more to follow.. |
